Lauren's Review of Wish You Were Here GA Epi

A week ago, Grey's Anatomy (GA) returned to the small screen and I was more than a little disappointed.

Usually, when I watch GA I have some sort of emotional reaction. I either yell at the screen, throw a pillow (which usually misses the television), cry, or at a minimum tear up but this epi didn't do anything for me.

Here's BuzzSugar's rundown.

Notes:

-Again, we have a new doctor. Maybe Shonda Rhimes was speaking through Richard about the show, when he said, "No one will come to this hospital. I had to beg." Because GA seems to have a revolving door when it comes to the cardio doctors and now we keep getting more new doctors- will any of them actually stay?

-It's good to have Bailey humbled from time to time and her speech with Richard reminded me of something- People usually can't stand traits in others that they themselves possess- so when the Chief is stating that Arizona like Bailey was the best in her class, Chief Resident, etc. it made me wonder a little more about Bailey. . .

-Yay for MerDer staying healthy and happy! But most normal relationships still have a little drama, like small fights here or there or maybe they just need more screen time? Anyway, I still heart them but I'd like to see some more progression or saying "I love you" on a regular basis???

-I still really like Owen and Cristina, so yay for them! And I like that it is intense and that Owen is trying so hard in his own way to like her, maybe love her? Although it is imperfect, he's trying and wants to make something out of it. I know some men who could learn from that.

-I think Slexie (Sloane and Lexie) are pretty hot and I want this to be a relationship!!

-The whole Denny thing is driving me NUTS! Please explain why Izzie thinks she's having it all??? I know that seeing Denny has to do with some sort of brain problem and I would just like it solved! It's too much. Keep Denny dead or bring him back altogether.

-I do love Callie and Sloane's friendship. It has a natural progression that I've been through myself and it's just cute. They're besties.

-I still don't get Callie's sexuality. She is seemingly bisexual now yet when Erica had her "A Ha Moment of seeing the green leaves" Callie freaked out and couldn't deal. It seemed that when Erica was claiming to understand that she is a lesbian and always has been, Callie was claiming to understand that she is not a lesbian. I AM CONFUSED!

Grey's Making Me Cry

As I type, I'm watching the one show I barely, rarely, ever, ever miss- Grey's Anatomy.

I just watched the screen when the woman who had no voice, says Hi to her husband and I teared up. I tear up whenever I watch this show.

Damn you Shonda Rhimes and all of the wonderful writers of Grey's- making me cry every Thursday.

This episode is all about taking a risk and realizing the value of love in a world where the middle matters and that is why we risk a lot for love. And finally- there are many couples that I'm absolutely rooting for to make it.

Notes:

-I love Cristina and Owen Hunt. After Burke left Yang was all about Mer and clung to her- now she's finally getting her own life and figuring it out. There is something so hot about their chemistry. They seem so different but they aren't and for whatever reason Hunt already gets Yang. Now, that's what I'm after.

-Yay for a healthy and happy relationship for MerDer but I do wish they'd get a little more screen time. How about some lovely, cuddly sex after Derek struggles with losing a 16 year old girl?

-I think Izzie has a brain problem because now they are making it very clear that Denny is in her head.

-Yay for Slexie!! They are a couple with a hell of a lot heat but I'm PRAYING Sloane doesn't hurt her.

-I'm a little confused about Callie- is she now gay? Bi? Which is it?

-Finally a little more about Sadie- I'm really curious who her dad is now and sort of why she's as fucked up as she is. Someone who looks for trouble like she does, does NOT come without baggage.

-George- you are growing and I loved, loved the epi when he was with the little kid (aka a little George- didn't the kid look like he could've been a kid George?), can we see more?

-Alex you are SUCH a good man with Izzie. Please fix Izzie- Alex deserves to be with someone who isn't crazy.

Thank you Grey's because I enjoyed this epi but please don't jump shark and keep on track with the characters.

Good Quotes

When I was in high school, I was obsessed with quotations.

I wrote them all over my notebooks, pondered what they meant, how they would apply to my life . . . (on and on).

I don't really search for quotations any more nor do I live my life by them as I used but I still can't resist writing down two damn good ones. I read/heard them in the past 24 hours:

Halle Berry was recently named Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire Magazine and in her acceptance speech, she wrote, "[Sexy is-] It's about loving yourself even in your most unlovable moments. I know a little bit about that."

I know a lot about that; I think Halle does too.

The second quote comes from my all time favorite television show, Grey's Anatomy. I heard it last night when I watched the second episode of the 5th season and read it today on the writer's blog.

Meredith's therapist tells her that she still needs therapy because "And happiness in the face of horrible is not the goal. Feeling the horrible stuff and knowing that you’re not gonna die from the feelings? That’s goal."

That's one damn good therapist.
