Winter Song. . . Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles

Winter Song with Ingrid Michaelson

Two of my favorite indie songstresses- Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles are singing in the above video. I think this video is sooo cute and it puts a smile on my face.

Ingrid is coming to Seattle again, after an awesome performance at Nuemos. I was going to put a link up to buy tickets but it turns out that it is already sold out.

Fairy Tales. . . She's got a crush on the guy at the liquor store

My favorite part is her assertion that she's a feminist- I am too, and that's why I love this song.

Because (as I once said to my roommate), these goddamn motherfucking fairytales have really screwed with us (us being young women who grew up on Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel . . .)

Sara B's Encore Performance of Gravity

This is truly one of her songs that signs straight to my heart. She sang it for her encore performance because, "People tend to get mad if I don't play it."

Indie Songstresses Coming to Seattle!

In many ways, I'm a girl's girl. The foil to a man's man. This includes my taste in music.

Since moving to Seattle seven years ago, I have become rapidly more in love with indie music; especially certain songstresses. The two artists that I have been listening to over and over are Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles. My particular favorites are Die Alone from Ms. Ingrid and City by Sara B. Although, you might know them because Ingrid is famous for her Sweater song that appeared in Old Navy commericals a few months ago and Sara is famous for Love Song.

Imagine my excitement, because I get REALLY excited about good shows, when I found out that they are both coming to MY town, SeaTown.

Ingrid is coming to town on November 10th. She'll be playing at Neumo's located in my 'hood of Capitol Hill.

Sara B will be performing at the Moore Theater in Downtown/Belltown on October 15th.

I'll see you there. . . I'll be the one singing along to every song.

I'm not gonna write you a love song
’cause you asked for it
’cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
’cause you tell me it's
make or breaking this
