That I'm brainy!!

Ha ha ha. I definitely don't consider myself brainy. I think I'm pretty smart but not brainy.

Although according to U.S. News Washington State ranks #3 for the brainiest states in the U.S. We are right behind Washington D.C. and Maryland.

Help- I lost my eye glasses this past Friday!

My frames . . .



I wonder if the internet will help me find my glasses that I lost this Friday. . .

I was at the Summit Pub this past Friday night and I think I lost my eye glasses and case there.

The last time I remember having them was when I tripped on the gravel outside and my purse dropped. I remember putting them back in my purse but I can't find them anywhere now.

If anyone has found a pair of black frame Cole Haans (they are for an astigmatism) with clear lenses and they should be inside of a fairly flat black/brown case. The lining on the inside of the case is bright orange and there should be a gray microfiber cleaning cloth as well.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated because the glasses were expensive because of the prescription and my eyes need them. I would really, really appreciate it.

Restaurant Review: Szmanias

As promised here is my review of Szmanias in Magnolia.

What I drank and ate:

Mimosa
Fruit Plate with Almond Honey Cream
Halibut

The mimosa was good but it's pretty hard to mess up a mimosa. Unless the juice is horrible or something.

The fruit plate was fresh, well presented and the almond honey cream complemented the fruit very nicely. The cream wasn't overwhelming and it added a touch of sweetness.

The Halibut was beautifully presented. The dish has some purples, reds, and white in its presentation that sounds a bit odd for lunch but it was beautiful. I wish I had a photo to show you internet. And it was delicious.

The fish was at a perfect temperature and very tender and I could really taste the lemon flavor but it didn't overwhelm it. The potatoes (that looked a bit purple) were a perfect portion and again, really tingled my tastebuds.

The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere friendly and warm, and the food was delicious. The price point is a little out of my normal budget but worth it for a great date night or another memorable brunch. I definitely treated myself that day.

Overall I give Szmanias four Spaceneedles.


I would recommend it and would love to go back again.

It's Back to the Gray

Although it rains more in Paris than Seattle, my 'hood is the one that gets the bad rap. Most of the time I defend my beautiful city by stating the following facts:

-I live in the Emerald City because the rain makes everything green :).
-There is a lack of smog because it rains frequently.
-Where there is rain at sea level, there is snow in the mountains for skiing and snowboarding (I heart skiing).

But right now, at the END of August, when it is usually hot and sunny, it's cold, again.

It's making me bummed out, I'm having a hard time getting up early in the morning for work, and of course, it makes want to drink red wine instead of going to the gym. That's healthy.

This upcoming weekend is Labor Day Weekend and I'm bummed because I won't be spending it outside in the sun like other years. I'll probably be holed up at home instead.

Boo!

This Time of the Year

I love Seattle. I honestly really do love Seattle and all things Seattle.

That's why I'm writing this blog, why I've been living here for almost a decade, why I try to get everyone I know to come visit . . . I even love the weather. Most of the time.

I love the winters when it's cold and rainy; almost every year we get snow here at sea level. Which to me is pretty cool. And it totally puts me in the holiday spirit.

But- This Time of the Year is what kills me. It's the second day in June and the weather forecast (drumroll please) is for rain ALL WEEK!

Yes, this is when I'm about to lose my s***.

I come from a place that is generally sunny all year long and while I don't necessairly want that (because I love fall clothes, the snow, and SEASONS!) I miss the sun right about now.

Like the desert misses the rain.

Because it should be warmer than it is. Or at least be gorgeous only on the weekends. Hell, I'll take it being sunny on the week days even though I'm in an office. I just want sun and the weather that it's supposed to be this time of year.

I'll warm but muggy!

This Time of the Year should also be known as My Almost Breaking Point.

As it says in my profile and description, I'm a twenty-something single girl living in Seattle. I'm real and anonymous. I'm in love with Seattle, although I'm not originally from here and I want to (narcissisticly) share my life stories and adventures out and about in SeaTown.
